WHAT IS ONE14 DESIGN STUDIO?
One14 Design Studio’s mission is to provide visual communication design services to non-profit organizations, including the University. In line with the University of Indianapolis’s motto, “Education for Service,” students create design solutions for a variety of community organizations. This provides students with practical experience as well as helping non-profit organizations to realize some of their design needs.
One14 Design functions as a design studio within the Department of Art and Design at the University of Indianapolis. The studio provides professional quality design services without charge to non-profit organizations and to the University. Faculty and seniors in the Visual Communication Design program work as studio directors; undergraduate students work in teams to provide design solutions. Students are involved in all aspects of the design process such as meeting with clients, strategizing and formulating concepts, and executing final solutions. The studio operates during the academic year, late August through early May.
The studio provides students with hands-on design experience working with clients and serves as a bridge to their professional careers, while functioning as a link to the Indianapolis community.
